Below is a list of assessed guided teaching hours (GLH) per CEFR level. The term ‘Directed Hours’ is defined as teaching hours directed under the direct direction or supervision of a lecturer, OVERSEER, tutor or other suitable education or training provider.
In terms of guided teaching hours, LanguageCert complies with CEFR references which set approximate values for ESOL qualification levels. As noted by ALTE, while a student progresses levels, the number of hours to reach each level increases, being this evidence of the continuing nature of language learning.
